CSAT 2013 analysis
Paper - 1
- the paper 1 seemed a bit easier and if not quite similar to the 2012 levels.
- the wieghtage of Indian polity and history looks same as of 2012.
- no question was asked on social schemes of government.
- questions from economics and commerce segment gained ground and similarly the questions from science were also asked, though the level of science questions were a bit high, the question from economics focussed on concepts and their applications.
- indian geography gained some attention.
- geographical phenomenon had two questions
- environment and ecology also gained importance.
candidates peparing since an year or more could easily score good marks.
Paper - 2
Paper - 2
- the number of questions are reduced to 80.
- six questions had no neagtive marking (and they all were relating to decision making ability).
- second paper was average (though it was easy last time also).
- UPSC increaed the proportion of questions from quant (that's quite surprising) and roughly the questions from quant were around 10-14.
- questions from passage were approximately 30.
- reasoning and verbal ability questions increased.
